How to improve
Start (0-10m)
- Block stance: back foot crouched
- On "set" — hips higher than shoulders
- On gun — drive both legs hard
- Keep head down for first 10-15 m
Drive (10-30m)
- Gradually rise
- Increase stride length
- Arms drive front-to-back, not side-to-side
Max velocity (30-60m)
- Body upright
- High knee drive
- Foot lands under hip, not in front
Maintain (60-100m)
- Don't accelerate — hold form
- Lean at the line
Warm-up (mandatory!)
10-15 min before sprinting:
- 5 min light jog
- Dynamic stretches
- A-skips, B-skips
- 3 × 60-80% strides
