Pomodoro 25 min — Pro Focus

Duration: 25m

00:25:00

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

Created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, the Pomodoro Technique uses 25-minute focused work sessions separated by short breaks. "Pomodoro" means tomato in Italian — Cirillo used a tomato-shaped kitchen timer.

How it works

  • Work 25 minutes without distraction
  • Break 5 minutes — stretch, drink water
  • After 4 rounds → long break 15-30 minutes

Why it works

Your brain has limited focus capacity. Continuous work for 2-3 hours decreases productivity. Pomodoro lets the brain refresh before fatigue hits, sustaining energy all day.

Tips for success

  1. Choose ONE specific task before starting
  2. Silence all notifications
  3. Start the timer immediately
  4. Stop when it rings — even mid-task
  5. Note what you accomplished
  6. Take the full 5-minute break
Pro tip: If you're "in the zone" and don't want to stop — that's a sign this round worked. Finish the Pomodoro before continuing.
